Perry was permitted to listen to any music she wanted by friends even though this was against the parents' will. Perry was always a an interest in music. With her outspoken nature, she stood by the desire to be a musician and followed the goals she had set. When she first received a break, she was faced with multiple challenges. She didn't achieve success in the first place. Her record label had to place a large portion songs on hold prior to being signed by the 'Capitol Record. This was when her path as a musician was born. This was her second album, "Teenage Dreams", which won the hearts of many people who love music, and turned it into one of the most popular albums ever. The album was the catalyst for many record-breaking albums as well as established Katy Perry's position as an acclaimed performer. Perry is well-known not only for writing songs and recording them, but in addition for her charitable work she has an array of passions. Perry is also an advocate for homosexual rights.
